Piano specialization

Students specializing in piano learn to play the classical piano. Those who master this “royal” instrument more firmly actively participate in various concerts, commemorations, charity events, educational projects, and contribute to enhancing the school’s reputation with numerous achievements in national and international competitions.
On a national scale, the specialization is known for organizing traditional events: the Lithuanian Young Pianists Contemporary Piano Music Competition “Šypsenėlė,” the National Piano Music Competition-Festival “Žvėrelių Karnavalas”, and the Lithuanian Young Pianists Etude Competition “Mažieji Virtuoza”.
Creative and initiative-driven teachers, together with their students, enrich the cultural life of the school community and the city with long-established events: the ensemble music evening “Duo-Trio,” concerts of the educational project “Musical Chest,” the Young Pianists Festival “Musical Midday by the Castle” at the National Museum of Lithuania, the concert “The Source of Sounds” at the Vilnius Picture Gallery, the concert-quiz “Popular Classics” from the educational project “Me and the Stage,” concerts from the educational projects “Dedication to the Composer” and “When I Was Little,” Advent music evenings, the concert-exhibition “For You, My Mother,” and many others.
Teachers constantly enrich the piano music repertoire with their own compositions and new methodological tools, conduct master classes, and participate as listeners and lecturers at methodological seminars, as well as performing in the school and city venues.
The curator of the Piano Specialization is teacher-methodologist Rasa Kulikauskienė.
